Forest and Agriculture Related Image Archives

  • WTU Herbarium Image Collection: Plants of Washington. Hosted by the Burke Museum of National History and Culture, and the University of Washington Herbarium, this website features 5,713 beautiful photographs of 1,183 plant species found in the many diverse ecosystems of Washington State.

  • U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's National Image Library: The National Image Library contains still photo images of wildlife, plants, National Wildlife Refuges and other scenes, as well as wildlife management work. You may search all the images through the National Image Library, or you may search by individual collection.

  • Forestry Images: The Source for Forest Health, Natural Resources and Silviculture Images. A joint project between Bugwood Network and the USDA Forest Service. Become a member for free to gain access to the higher resolution images.

  • Invasive and Exotic Species of North America: Includes any species, including its seeds, eggs, spores, or other biological material capable of propagating that species, that is not native to that ecosystem; and whose introduction does or is likely to cause economic or environmental harm or harm to human health. Membership is the same as that for Forestry Images (above).

  • Insect Images: The Source for Insect Images,Forest Health, Natural Resources and Silviculture Images. A joint project between Bugwood Network and the USDA Forest Service. Become a member for free to gain access to the higher resolution images.

  • Operations and Equipment Images: from the University of Wisconsin - Madison Forestry Extension, this site contains 305 images of different forestry equipment and their use in forestry operations.

  • Central Washington Native Plants: Photos are freely available for personal, academic, and non-profit use (includes school reports, academic web pages, personal "hobby" pages, and pamphlets, flyers, web pages, and other publications assembled by someone in a nonprofit or governmental agency for noncommercial use). Photos used should include a citation that credits Thayne Tuason as the photographer.

  • The National Interagency Fire Center Image Portal: An easy-to-use Web interface that allows you to search, find, and download photos related to natural resources on public lands administered by the NIFC. This system allows you to find images by searching for specific keywords or by browsing categories or folders.

  • Oregon State Horticulture: Landscape images and information.

  • UConn Plant Database: Latin and common names of trees, plants and vines.
