Bruce Hansen

Bruce Hansen is the Director’s Representative and Project Leader of Research Work Unit NE-4803 “Eastern Forest Use in a Global Economy” located at the USDA Forest Service’s, Forestry Sciences Laboratory, Princeton, West Virginia. As Director’s Representative, Dr. Hansen represents the Station Director in all matters pertaining to the administrative operation of the Princeton Laboratory. As Project Leader, Bruce oversees research aimed at providing economic, market, and wood-use information that will support the health and sustainability of forest-based industries, hardwood forests, and forest communities. Bruce’s personal research has focused on forest industry investment analysis, evaluation of new product and process opportunities, international trade, and primary and secondary hardwood markets. Bruce holds a BS in economics from Concord College and MBA and PhD degrees from Virginia Tech.
