Andrew A. Bluhm

Andrew A. Bluhm is currently the Associate Program Director of the Hardwood Silviculture Cooperative in the Department of Forest Science at Oregon State University.

He received his B.S. degree in Silviculture at the University of Minnesota and his M.S. degree in Forest Ecology at the University of Georgia.

Travel took him (and his wife) to Mongolia, where they worked with scientists studying forest ecology and the role of fire on the landscape. He finally landed in the Pacific Northwest continuing to study the effects of fire on boreal and temperate forest communities. Wanting to work on more applied forest management topics led him to his current position. His main duties include trying to stay dry during a long winter field season, trying not to go stir-crazy while analyzing data in the summer, and always trying to keep up with his two young sons.
